VELDO Makine AR-GE A.Ş., which uses the domestic pyrolysis technology it has developed under the V-Pyro brand to turn agricultural and forestry waste into value-added, carbon-negative products, aims to build a sustainable future.
Chairman of the Board Haluk Veli Doğan said they are proud to be the pioneer of Türkiye's clean carbon economy with their modern plant under construction at Mersin-Tarsus Agropark and new investments in Manisa, where feasibility studies are under way: “As Türkiye's first genuine carbon removal project, registered in the European Union's prestigious carbon platforms Puro.Earth and EU Clean Carbon Registry, VELDO is on its way to representing Türkiye on international carbon credit platforms. By starting to produce certified carbon credits as of 2026, it will take our country to a strong position in the global carbon market. With every tonne of biochar we return to the soil, we provide scientific and lasting solutions against climate change. Working in full compliance with carbon-negative production and circular economy principles under the new Climate Law, VELDO also offers sustainable solutions to local governments and the agricultural sector.”
Stating that, as a result of the criteria-setting work carried out with TSE, they are the first and only company in Türkiye to hold the TSE K 665 Pyroligneous Acid standard and the TSE EN 1860-2 Barbecue Charcoal standard, which is also valid in the European Union, Haluk Veli Doğan noted that barbecue charcoal meeting this standard recognised in Europe is a smokeless, high-quality carbon product that contains no harmful gases and is safe for human health.
“A domestic technology move at our new plant”
Doğan said that once construction of the new plant at Mersin-Tarsus Agropark is completed, domestic pyrolysis systems approved by the Ministry of Industry and Technology, an activated carbon production unit, wood vinegar filtering and filling machines and pesticide analysis devices will be put into operation. Doğan stated that with this advanced technology developed in Türkiye they have set up a sustainable production model that reduces foreign dependency by using raw materials they produce themselves, and that with the activated carbon production unit in operation they will speed up their graphene production and supercapacitor development projects: “With our energy storage solutions for electric vehicles, we will lead our country's energy transition. With pilot projects in the European, US and Asian markets, we will also strengthen our presence on a global scale.”
Stating that after major awards such as “Best Organic Disinfectant” and the “Circular Economy Achievement Award” in 2024, they received the “Low Carbon Hero” and “Plastic Waste Recycling” awards in 2025, bringing their total to 7 awards, Doğan said: “We passionately continue our work with the innovative, sustainable and domestic technologies we have developed, and we are putting our signature on a clean future.”
