V-Pyro Pyroligneous Acid (Wood Vinegar) Successfully Completes Fungicidal Efficacy Tests

In the EN 1650 test, at 80% concentration and a 15-minute contact time, our pyroligneous acid (wood vinegar) was more than 99.999% effective against Candida albicans and Aspergillus brasiliensis.

Our pyroligneous acid (wood vinegar), produced by V-Pyro through the pyrolysis of agricultural waste such as olive pits, walnut shells and apricot kernels, has successfully passed fungicidal efficacy tests carried out in accordance with international standards.

  • Test standard: EN 1650 – Fungicidal activity
  • Test concentration: 80%
  • Contact time: 15 minutes

Results:

  • More than 99.999% efficacy against Candida albicans ATCC 10231 (> 5 log reduction)
  • More than 99.999% efficacy against Aspergillus brasiliensis ATCC 16404 (> 5 log reduction)

Overall assessment: By showing a high level of fungicidal activity against the fungal species tested, V-Pyro Pyroligneous Acid (Wood Vinegar) has proven that it can be used safely in biological control and plant protection applications.

The test was carried out and reported in accordance with the disinfectant test method of the Turkish Ministry of Health.
