Determination of the Antibacterial Activity of Wood Vinegar by Disk Diffusion Method

 

Bacteria Used

In this study, bacteria isolated from milk samples examined in the microbiology laboratory for analysis were used (Table 1).

Determination of MRSA Strains by Disk Diffusion Method

The antibacterial activity of wood vinegar was demonstrated using the disk diffusion method in accordance with the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI, 2018) guidelines. For this purpose, each bacterial suspension was inoculated onto Müller Hinton agar, and 30 µL of wood vinegar was impregnated onto 4 mm paper disks. The disks were then placed on the agar surface and incubated at 37 °C for 24 hours. At the end of the incubation period, inhibition zones were measured and evaluated.

 

Result

The obtained sensitivities are presented in Table 1 and Figures 1–2.
