Turkey’s First True Carbon Project: VELDO’s Clean Carbon Initiative

VELDO Makine ARGE A.Ş. (V-Pyro) is a domestic technology company that both develops and implements pyrolysis technology to produce carbon-negative products by utilizing agricultural and forestry residues. In line with our sustainability vision, we have initiated the establishment of two new production facilities in the Mersin-Tarsus and Manisa regions.

At these facilities, agricultural biomass waste is processed using modern pyrolysis systems to produce:

-Biochar,

-Natural by-products such as Pyroligneous Acid and wood tar,

-Renewable energy (heat and gas recovery)

are produced.

Our goal is to both increase agricultural productivity and lock carbon into the soil to provide long-term climate solutions. Additionally, our project is based on local employment and circular economy principles, contributing to regional development.

Registration to the European Clean Carbon Market: Why It Matters?

VELDO’s visionary project has been evaluated in accordance with the European Union Clean Carbon Market criteria and has completed the pre-registration process on:

-Puro.Earth

At VELDO, we verify the carbon sequestration effect of the biochar we produce according to international standards and certify it through the Puro.Earth platform.

Carbon credits are offered separately from our products, and our partners who purchase these credits can support their climate commitments. This allows VELDO to provide both a soil-enriching product and a traceable, auditable carbon solution for customers who request it.

-EU Clean Carbon Registry platforms (European Clean Carbon Certification Systems)

As of July 2025, the verification and audit process will begin, after which the project will become active and able to generate certified carbon credits on the system.

What Does This Mean?

-VELDO is not only producing carbon-capturing products but also becomes an active part of a system that ensures the international verification and certification of this impact.

-The biochar we produce permanently locks carbon into the soil, creating sellable carbon credits for every ton stored.

-Thus, we both contribute to combating climate change and generate economic value in the clean carbon market.

This system is not only an environmental approach but also a globally traceable and auditable climate solution that directly supports our country’s net-zero targets.
